Our Story

Harvested Hides LLC offers taxidermy services for whitetail deer, bear, and turkey in central Wisconsin (Oshkosh).

At Harvested Hides, we take pride in the quality of the mount beginning with the materials that we use to the meticulous details in our finish work. Our goal is to provide you with a mount that takes you back to the day you harvested the animal. From the time you caught a glimpse of his antler rising above the marsh grass, until the time you steady the sight on him as your heart is racing, you have an image. Bringing that image full circle is the part that I enjoy most for my clients.

My name is Kyle Turner and I am the lone taxidermist and business owner operating just outside of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. My passion for hunting was sparked at a young age by my family members. Hunting has always been a passion for me; from following out hunters at the age of six to their stand, not knowing I was disrupting the hunt, to going on numerous trips with family and friends.

The hunter, seen in blazer orange, shows his whitetail buck harvested during Wisconsin rifle season.

As a young hunter, I set the goal of harvesting and mounting a mature whitetail buck harvested from my grandpa’s farm. From my trials and tribulations hunting, I learned every hunt is a chapter in your hunting story. Taxidermy serves as a way to preserve your hunt for generation to come – and the stories that come with it. Beginning with European mounts in high school, I started to develop a passion for the craftsmanship of taxidermy. Mentored one-on-one under the local taxidermist who mounted my first deer and turkey, I learned the techniques, anatomical features, and tools necessary for whitetail taxidermy. From the 2021 and 2022 seasons, I exercised my craftsmanship completing fourteen shoulder mounts including one pack for family and friends. Beginning the 2023 season I had an opportunity to learn more techniques and tricks by completing twelve shoulder mounts subcontracted for other local taxidermists.

Overall, I am very thankful for the opportunity to learn directly underneath taxidermists but also for my friends and family for allowing me the opportunity to practice on their harvests. I am excited to continue to grow my skill set and look forward to serving you by providing you with a mount that takes you back to the day of harvest.
